James Patrick McCune, Esquire
James’ first job upon graduating law school was as an Assistant State Attorney in St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Florida. As a prosecutor, he handled thousands of criminal cases ranging from juvenile to misdemeanors to felonies. While at the State Attorney’s Office, James gained valuable trial experience, which he continues to apply now in private practice.
Upon leaving the State Attorney’s Office, James entered private practice and eventually opened his own practice in 2007. He concentrates his practice on criminal law, family law, personal injury cases, wills and estate closings and real estate law.
James is also active in the community. He is on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the St. Francis House, and EPIC. James also volunteers as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher, which he has done since 1998. James is a former member of the Historical Architecual Review Board (HARB) and currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Board (PZB).
